A Ferrari 458 Italia foi apresentada na última edição do Salão de Frankfurt e a Ferrari informou que no segundo semestre de 2010 irá preparar a produção da 458 Italia Spider, a versão convencível da 458 Italia.Como na versão com capota a Spider terá um motor V8 de 4.5 litros com 570 cv de potência.
Honda CR-Z Concept 2009
A versão de pré-produção do protótipo CR-Z, será apresentado no Salão de Tóquio, que terá inicio em um mês.Esta versão é uma muito próxima da que será produzida para o mercado Japonês em 2010.
A nível mecânico, o CR-Z utiliza o mesmo sistema híbrido do Insight, mas em lugar do motor a gasolina de 1,3 litros ele usa um de 1,5 litros.
Ao contrário do que acontece com o Insight e Civic Hybrid, o sistema híbrido da Honda surge associado a uma caixa manual de seis velocidades, com o objetivo de realçar o caráter dinâmico do modelo. As baterias de níquel metal estão alojadas sob o piso.
Toyota faz Recall por causa do tapete que pode prender acelerador
A Toyota dos EUA anunciou Recall de 3,8 milhões de veículos devido à possibilidade do tapete prender o pedal acelerador. O maior recall da história da marca japonesa abrange sete modelos, dentre eles, o Camry vendido no Brasil.O problema foi detectado somente após a ocorrência de um acidente no mês de agosto deste ano que causou a morte de quatro pessoas da mesma família, que estavam a bordo de um Lexus ES350 2009 na Califórnia.
O acidente poderia ter passado desapercebido, mas uma ligação para o número de emergências feita por um ocupante do veículo antes do acidente informava que o acelerador estava travado e a velocidade já passava de 190 km/h.

Como medida preventiva, a Toyota está aconselhando aos proprietários dos carros afetados que retirem o tapete do motorista enquanto o problema não é resolvido.
A Toyota do Brasil, através de sua assessoria de imprensa, informou que ainda não tem informações sobre o recall norte-americano. A marca também informa que Camry vendido no Brasil é importado do Japão, e que por isso, tem algumas diferenças em relação ao modelo norte-americano.
Este recall também serve como alerta para os proprietários de modelos de outras marcas. Utilizar um jogo de tapetes que não são específicos (dimensões) para o seu carro e ficam soltos, podem, não necessariamente travar o acelerador, mas atrapalhar o acesso aos pedais (como o de freio, por exemplo).

Last year, the Forester SUV was completely retooled, and it has sold briskly. For 2010, the long-running Outback gets its overhaul, and it's a doozy.
The Outback has gone from a car-like station wagon to an SUV-like crossover, just like that. It's bigger in nearly every exterior and interior dimension, which resolves the issues past owners had with interior space and gives it a much more comfortable ride. It may not be as fun to drive as before, but it's a better family vehicle that still exudes ruggedness and foul-weather capability.
At first glance, the 2010 Outback — with its beefy dimensions, large grille and sharp-edged design — looks nothing like the previous model.
Sixteen-inch wheels are standard on the base 2.5i, with 17-inch alloys becoming standard on all other trim levels.

Infiniti G37 Cupê com pintura inspirada no Cirque du Soleil
Em comemoração dos 20 anos da Infiniti. A artista plástica Heidi Taillefer fez a pintura de um cupê G37 inspirada no Cirque du Soleil. As pinturas trazem 25 anos de história do Cirque e foi batizado de Ligozzi.O carro não teve sua estrutura modificada, somente recebeu a pintura, que levou um mês para ficar pronta.
O Infiniti G37 ficará em exibição nas lojas da marca no Canadá até o fim do ano. Depois será leiloado e o lucro será revertido a uma instituição de caridade.

Audi lost the plot with the last generation S4. Unlike the twin-turbocharged V6-equipped B5, its B6 and B7 brethren did little to stoke the flames in our collective hearts. The "S" simply stood for, "I paid more for a bigger engine and some additional trim." Needless to say, that sort of behavior doesn't cut it when you're battling it out with one of the most competent sports sedan of the last decade: the BMW 335i.

Located only about 15 minutes away from each other, James Dean Days in Fairmount, IN, and the Duck Tail Run in Gas City, IN, might very well be the largest street rod gathering in Indiana for September! Thousands of classics cruised from all over the country to attend the festivities. One thing is for sure, you can't see everything in one day (even though I tried). There's a lot of ground to cover and I found myself getting stopped by every other car, admiring the beauty.

2nd Annual Darlington Historic Racing Festival

The Darlington Raceway (www.darlingtonraceway.com) host the 2nd Annual Darlington Historic Racing Festival! Racing participants gathered together from 23 States and Canada to experience the track "Too Tough to Tame!" The vintage racers consist of Historic cars, Indy Roadsters, Stock, Modified and Midgets.
Click on the video to view the "Moment in Time" display. Each display of vintage racers had a description explaining the history of the car and driver. This was an amazing display of historic vehicles.
Check out this 1927 Hudson open-wheel racer! This is a gorgeous racer with a brass gas pump and original wooden steering wheel.
This exciting event was interactive for all enthusiasts! Owners of these historic vehicles encouraged spectators to ask questions of the history each vehicle.
The "Legends Pavilion" host question and answer sessions among the racing fans and "Legends of Racing." The racing legends included South Carolina natives Cale Yarborough and David Pearson, Ned Jarrett, Junior Johnson, Marvin Panch and open-wheel legend Johnny Rutherford. Further, each legend was available for autograph sessions for fans.

2010 Fiat Panda Mini
Fiat Panda Mini receives subtle upgrades for the 2010 model year. On the outside, all 2010 model year Pandas adopt the more contemporary body colored grille found on the 4x2 and 4x4 Dynamic variants, new alloy wheel options, larger exterior mirrors and silver trim finish for the roof bars. Fiat has also added four new exterior colors to the lineup.
Inside, the instrument panel gets fresh graphics while there's also a new selection of upholstery colors.
Mechanical improvements are limited to the introduction of a new 69 horsepower 1.2-liter gasoline engine that emits 113g/km of CO2. In Europe, Panda buyers have a wide choice of gasoline, diesel, natural gas and LPG engines with outputs ranging from 54 to 100 horsepower.

Hyundai has already notified the organizer about its withdrawal from the auto show, which will start on Oct. 24 at the Makuhari Messe convention hall in Chiba, organizers said.
This year, the American "Big Three" and other major foreign automakers have also announced their absence from the event. With only two overseas companies -- German carmaker Alpina and British sports car manufacturer Lotus -- taking part in the upcoming show, organizers fear that it will lack excitement.

VW to Buy SsangYong Motor?
It appears Volkswagen isn’t busy enough with getting Porsche and being its sole owner. VW is now bent on taking over the South Korean automaker SsangYong Motor, which is operating under bankruptcy protection.
Months ago, SsangYong suffered a vicious strike when hundreds of workers decided to occupy a factory and shut down production entirely. Volkswagen has neither confirmed nor refuted the reports so far but it is believed that SAIC, the former SsangYong owner, collaborated with VW through the Shanghai VW joint venture.

Chevrolet Agile chega em outubro
Totalmente desenvolvido no Brasil o Chevrolet Agile, vem para concorrer com Volkswagen Fox e Renault Sandero.O Agile será vendido em duas versões de acabamento. A básica LT e a LTZ. Na versão LT ele vem com direção hidráulica, banco do motorista com regulagem de altura, ar-quente, limpador do vidro traseiro, computador de bordo e piloto automático, este último inédito em sua categoria.
E na versão LTZ agrega faróis de neblina, rádio com Bluetooth, travas, retrovisores e vidros dianteiros elétricos, alarme, coluna de direção com regulagem de altura e banco traseiro bipartido, ar-condicionado e airbag duplo são opcionais nas duas versões, mas vidros traseiros elétricos, lanterna de neblina e freios com sistema anti-travamento (ABS).
Ele traz o painel com “duplo cockpit”, os dois lados (motorista e passageiro) são simétricos.
O motor utilizado no Agile é o 1.4 Econoflex de 102 cv com álcool e 97 cv com gasolina o mesmo do Prisma, Corsa, Meriva e Montana.

Seabreacher o submarino em formato de golfinho
Deixando os carros um pouco de lado, mas falando ainda de maquinas. Vejam só o que uma empresa da Califórnia andou fazendo, um barco/submarino (não sei do que chamar) no formato de golfinho denominado Seabreacher.Com ele pode-se mergulhar, rodopiar e fazer gracinhas para as pessoas, tudo bem isso acho isso não ou sim, sei lá. Ele chega a uma velocidade de 64 km/h em cima d’água e 32 km/h quando submerso e podendo chega a uma profundidade de 5 pés por um breve período.
O Seabreacher quando submerso não pode ir muito fundo pois precisa deixar o snorkel acima da água para pegar ar, caso ele afunde muito o motor perde força e o golfinho volta para superfície. O Seabreacher foi projetado para ser utilizado tanto em água doce e salgada.
Ele pode ser navegado com a escotilha aberta e quando submerso é vedado com um sistema semelhante o das aeronaves, mas se mesmo assim entrar água um bomba a retira.
O Seabreacher foi projetado pela Innespace, uma companhia Califórnia especializafa em design de embarcações. O projeto levou 10 anos para ficar pronto, mas Rob Innes, um dos proprietários da empresa, garante que ele é muito seguro e de fácil dirigibilidade.
Innespace está vendendo atualmente o Seabreachers com preços a partir de US$ 48.000. A versão mais cara inclui um dorso colorido, visores subaquáticos eletrônicos e estofados personalizados com o preço de US$ 68.000.

The 2010 Nissan Versa and 2010 Buick LaCrosse have both been named 2009 Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.
To win the award, a vehicle must earn a “Good” rating, which is the highest, in all three of IIHS’ crash tests, which include frontal-offset, side-impact and rear crash tests. The vehicles also must have electronic stability control.
Stability control is optional in the Versa, so only models equipped with the option received the top rating. It’s standard on the LaCrosse.

Tunability: It shares the Versa platform so there ought to be some suspension carryover. But then again, how many fixed up Versas have you seen? The Cube's out in Japan so there's hope yet.
